5.4-magnitude earthquake hits Jammu & Kashmir's Doda, tremors felt in Delhi-NCR

मंगलवार को जम्मू और कश्मीर में 5.4 तीव्रता का भूकंप हुआ, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप दिल्ली और उत्तर भारत के कई हिस्सों में कंप का अनुभव हुआ। अधिकारियों के अनुसार, भूकंप दोपहर 1.33 बजे हुआ और यह जम्मू और कश्मीर के डोडा जिले के गंदोह भलेसा गांव के पास से उत्पन्न हुआ। "हिमाचल प्रदेश, चंडीगढ़, पंजाब और सभी आस-पास के क्षेत्रों में कंप का अनुभव हो सकता है। आधिकारिक कंप या प्राथमिक दबाव से कम हो सकता है," राष्ट्रीय भूकंप विज्ञान केंद्र के निदेशक डॉ. ओ.पी. मिश्रा ने कहा।

सिरनगर में मजबूत भूकंप का कंप महसूस किया गया

यूरोपीय मध्य सागरीय भूकंप वैज्ञानिक केंद्र के अनुसार, भूकंप जम्मू और कश्मीर के किहतवार से 30 किलोमीटर दक्षिण पूर्व में हुआ।

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, as a result of which Delhi and several parts of north India experienced tremors. According to officials, the earthquake struck at 1.33 pm and it originated near the remote village of Gandoh Bhalessa in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. "Tremors might have been felt in Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab and all adjoining areas. The aftershock could be of a lesser magnitude than the main shock," National Center for Seismology director Dr OP Mishra said.

Strong earthquake tremors felt in Srinagar

The quake occurred 30 km southeast of Kihtwar in Jammu and Kashmir, as per the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

In Srinagar, the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir, strong tremors were experienced, causing alarm among the local population. The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported that the quake was centered approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

As news of the earthquake spread, authorities in the affected regions initiated measures to assess the situation and ensure the safety of residents. Emergency response teams were deployed to survey any potential damage to buildings and infrastructure.

 

Earthquakes are not uncommon in the seismically active region of Jammu and Kashmir. It serves as a reminder of the need for preparedness and resilience in the face of natural disasters. The local population is advised to remain cautious and follow the guidance provided by local authorities to mitigate any potential risks.
